Dear Our Lady of Fatima Family,

As we prepare for possible inclement weather this weekend, we want to share a few important updates and encourage everyone to use prudent judgment and prioritize safety.

Sunday Mass and the Sunday Obligation:

  • The Church expects Catholics to participate in Sunday mass, but no one is obligated to travel to mass when road or weather conditions are unsafe. In those circumstances, no dispensation is needed—your responsibility is to make a prudent decision based on local conditions and your ability to travel safely.
  • Weather and road conditions can vary widely across our area, so our parish will communicate any schedule changes as soon as decisions are made.

Changes/Cancelations:

  • Notification of changes to our scheduled events or cancellations will be posted to the top of this page as soon as ministry leaders notify our office of these changes.

For Those Present On Campus:

  • Our parking lot and sidewalks have been treated in anticipation of inclement weather and we have contracted for snow removal services for those who are on campus this weekend. For safety, we advise all to remain on the visibly treated areas.
  • We encourage all to stay safe and use their best judgement and follow the advice of local civil leaders in choosing to travel to church.

If You Cannot Attend Church In Person:

  • All masses will be livestreamed for this weekend for those who cannot attend due to weather conditions. Please check our website for the livestream links.
  • If you are unable to attend mass due to unsafe conditions, we encourage you to participate by watching the livestream, and to keep Sunday holy through prayer (for example: praying the rosary, praying Morning/Evening Prayer, and reading the Sunday readings).

Please stay safe. Let’s keep in prayer all who must travel, all who respond in emergencies during severe weather, and especially those who are most vulnerable—neighbors experiencing homelessness or without safe shelter, and anyone facing the cold without adequate warmth or support.

In Christ,

Fr. Pete Iorio
Pastor

Querida Familia de Our Lady of Fatima:

Si No Puede Asistir En Persona:

Padre Pedro Iorio
