In Memory of Father Joseph Mary Hammond, CHS
We are saddened to share the news of the passing of Father Joseph Mary Hammond, CHS, on Saturday, August 9, at the age of 79. A native of Ghana, Father Hammond served faithfully in Hispanic ministry throughout the Diocese of Knoxville since 1998.
Our parish was blessed by his ministry from July 2013 to September 2018, during which time he served Our Lady of Fatima’s Hispanic community with humility, joy, and deep pastoral care. He was greatly loved by our parish family.
Funeral Arrangements
- Visitation: Friday, August 15, at 6:00 p.m. – St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Knoxville
- Bilingual Scripture Service: Friday, August 15, at 7:30 p.m. – St. John Neumann Catholic Church
- Funeral Mass: Saturday, August 16, at 10:00 a.m., celebrated by Bishop Mark Beckman – St. John Neumann Catholic Church

En Memoria del Padre Joseph Mary Hammond, CHS
Con tristeza compartimos la noticia del fallecimiento del Padre Joseph Mary Hammond, CHS, el sábado 9 de agosto, a la edad de 79 años. Nativo de Ghana, el Padre Hammond sirvió fielmente en el ministerio hispano en toda la Diócesis de Knoxville desde 1998.
Nuestra parroquia fue bendecida con su ministerio desde julio de 2013 hasta septiembre de 2018, tiempo en el que sirvió a la comunidad hispana de Nuestra Señora de Fátima con humildad, alegría, y profundo cuidado pastoral. Fue muy querido por nuestra familia parroquial.
