The Knights of Columbus council 3832 are donating funds and labor to erect a 40 by 80 pavilion on the church grounds to serve the ministries and parishioners of Our Lady of Fatima Church.

Monsignor Mankel, Pastor Bede Aboh, Father John Orr, Co-Chairmen Jack Henson and Deputy Grand Knight Tony Richardson were present at a groundbreaking ceremony on the church grounds. Also present were Parish Council members, CCW members, CYO directors and interested parishioners.

Monsignor Mankel, Father John Orr and Father Bede Aboh read scripture and blessed the site with the Monsignor giving a heart warming recollection of the Parish History of which he was a part of. Our Lady of Fatima was his first assignment as a young priest and he related that it was his recommendation with Bishop O’Connell’s support (at that time) that we bought this site for the “Our Lady of Fatima Church.” The traditional gold colored shovels and hard hats were used for the ground breaking ceremony.

The Knights of council 3832 spent the last few years saving proceeds from Golf Outings and BBQ sales to make this dream possible.

Under the guidance of Father Bede we envision a community building effort to entice our parishioners to use the facility for the needs of CYO functions as well as parish picnics, weddings, outdoor masses and other parish related activities.

Thanks to all of our parishioners and friends who contributed to the knights fund raisers and made this project possible.

We thank the Lord for giving us the dedication and initiative to serve our church, our pastor and the parishioners of Our Lady of Fatima Church.
